Title, Abstract
A. M. Campau's Three Mile Drive Addition,
Being a Subdivision of Part of Private Claims 502 and 692.
Abstract of Title prepared by the Abstract and Title Guaranty Company concerning Lot 87 of "A. M. Campau's Three Mile Drive Addition, Being a Subdivision of Part of Private Claims 502 and 692." The lot dimensions were 20 feet x 100 feet and it was located near the southwest corner of Audubon and Warren Avenues. The document package consists of approximately 60 pages of typewritten text and printed forms which trace the chain of land ownership from A. M. Campau, who owned the land prior to 1800, to Rene Marsac, who registered a claim at the Land Office in Detroit in 1808. The abstract continues to follow the chain of ownership to Joseph Campau and various heirs and other persons in the 1800's. Details of several court cases involving the land ownership are also included in the abstract. It appears that the A. M. Campau Realty Company owned the land in the 1920's and Lot 87 was acquired by Robert G. Kitchen who received a building permit from the City of Detroit in 1928. The pages are bound at the top with a dark green satin ribbon.
