U-Matic tape containing a single ten-second public service announcement advertising the 1987 Detroit Riverfront Festivals--both the Detroit Riverfront Ethnic Festivals, and the Montreux-Detroit Jazz Festival.
The tape begins with a Better World Communications countdown. The spot consists of a series of quick shots from past festivals--folk dancers, musicians, vendors, concessions, and attendees--accompanied by a female voice-over that mentions the Mexican, Polish, African World, and Yugoslav ethnic festivals, as well as the Montreux-Detroit Jazz Festival. The spot ends with a phone number for requesting festival schedules, and the Detroit Riverfront Festivals logo featuring the Renaissance Center, the People Mover, and the U.S. and Canadian flags.
The video is on a 3M UCA-5 U-Matic S tape with a handwritten 3M label on its top. The tape is housed within a black plastic latching case with a matching label on its cover.
