U-Matic tape containing three advertisements--a general "Do It In Detroit" campaign spot, the 1984 Detroit Grand Prix, and the Montreux-Detroit International Jazz Festival

After the Department of Video Production logo, the "Do It In Detroit" commercial begins. It features the Four Tops' jingle "Be a Part of the Heart of Detroit (Do It In Detroit)" played over a montage of scenes showcasing the city and its attractions. Among the included scenes are those of downtown, Belle Isle, the Four Tops, African drummers, the Montreux-Detroit Jazz Festival, Boblo Island and the Boblo boats, Greektown, sports, industry, construction, Eastern Market, the Detroit Institute of Arts, and Ethnic Festivals in Hart Plaza.

The Grand Prix commercial combines shots of the Detroit track, cars in a race, and a racer suiting up in front of the Renaissance Center. The commercials provides the event's dates, June 23, 23, 24, 1984.

The Montreux-Detroit International Jazz Festival commercial begins with a drum set, bass guitar, trombone, saxophone, and trumpet set up above a pool of water with a cut out of the city's skyline in the background. As the camera zooms into the background a silhouetted saxophone player appears.

The video is on a 3M UCA-5 U-Matic tape, with a typewritten City of Detroit Department of Public Information Video Production label. The tape is housed within a black plastic latching case with a matching Department of Public Information label on the cover.
