U-Matic tape containing title cards and voice-overs from public service announcements concerning Noel Night, the annual Christmas Carnival, and Do It In Detroit Neighborhood Shopping Days.

The tape opens with the title card for a Noel Night spot. The card features the text, "Noel Night, Wednesday, December 7, 6 P.M. - 9:30 P.M. Cultural Center," beside illusttration of Santa Claus with a bag over his shoulder. Five takes of a voice-over are provided by a woman who mentions the involvement of seventeen institutions, and a finale in which the Salvation Army Band leads the crowd in Christmas caroles.

This is followed by the title card for a public service announcement promoting the Christmas Carnival at Cobo Hall. The card includes the text, "Detroit's 22nd Annual Christmas Carnival, Cobo Hall, December 9 - 19, 9 AM - 9 PM, 'The Joys of the Holiday Season,' Admission Voluntar Donation, Detroit Recreation Department." The card features an illustration of children building a snowman beside a path leading to a snow-covered house. A woman provides six takes of a voice-over briefly providing the event's details.

The final section on the tape is a title card for a public service announcement promothing Do It In Detroit Shopping Days. The title card features an illustration ot a couple holding shopping bags, and the "Do It In Detroit" campaign logo. The card includes the text, "Do It In Detroit Days, Decemeber 7 -12, For Great Neighborhood Shopping, Do It In Detroit." A man's voice lists the participating areas as "Grand River-Greenfield, Gratiot-Seven Mile, Redford Is, and Dexter-Davidson Retail Centers."

The video is on a U-Matic S tape with a handwritten City of Detroit Department of Public Information label on its top. This label includes the notes "new tape returned 11/17/82," and "'Do it In Detroit' Shopping Days Take #4." The tape is housed within a black plastic latching clamshell case with a matching typewritten Department of Public Information label on its cover. Both labels identify the tape as number 114.
