Belle Isle Master :30
U-Matic tape containing four public service announcements from the city of Detroit. The first is for Belle Isle, the second and third are for the Detroit Air Show, and the forth is from the Detroit Water and Sewerage Department.
In the first spot for "Belle Isle, Detroit's Island Paradise," a voice-over mention's the island park's attractions--the Belle Isle Nature Center, the Dossin Great Lakes Museum, the Belle Isle Aquarium, and the Safariland Zoo. Brief footage of each locale, plus people jogging, fishing, and playing golf are shown, taken from the b-roll tapes 2015.008.008 and 2015.008.009. The spot ends with a title card with an illustration of a couple in a canoe, and the slogan, "Do it in Detroit."
The next two spots are for the 1985 Detroit Air Show held at City Airport on July 13th and 14th. The first spot features footage of airplanes performing at a previous show, and a voice-over describing the event. The spot ends with a title card showing an illustration of an upside down biplane and the motto, "Do it in Detroit." Both the voice over and title card note that discount tickets are sold at Farmer Jack stores. The second air show spot is shorter and only features the title card and a shortened voice-over. Paper shuffling can be heard between the two spots.
The final public service announcement is a warning about imposter representatives Detroit Water and Sewerage Department. The spot features an on-screen announcer, and footage of a Water and Sewerage Department worker showing his badge during a visit to an elderly woman's house.
The video is on a UCA-5 U-Matic tape with a handwritten 3M label on the top. The tape is housed in a black U-Matic latching clamshell case, with a handwritten 3M label on the spine and a piece of masking tape marked "0209." A handwritten shot list is included in the case:
