Eastern Market Shots
4-14-90
U-Matic S tape containing footage shot in Eastern Market's Shed 5 on April 14, 1990. The majority of the tape focuses on a special photo opportunity for children with two people in Easter Bunny costumes staffed by workers from the City of Detroit's Department of Public Information in the elevated southwest end of the shed. Near the end of the tape the camera moves to the main floor of the shed for shots of produce, dairy, and flower vendors and customers on the main floor of the shed. Throughout the tape, workers in 1990 Census t-shirts pass shopping bags out to members of the public. The video's final moments show shoppers and vendors beneath Shed 4.
The recording is on a 3M UCA 30S U-Matic tape with a handwritten 3M label. The tape is housed within a black plastic case with a matching label on its cover.
