U-Matic tape S containing footage shot from a Detroit Fire Department fire tug of the riverfront and Belle Isle on August 14, 1990. This tape contains footage of the riverfront from the Roostertail, up river to Windmill Point, then back down river to Erma Henderson Park. The footage is continued from tape 2015.008.270, and continues on 2015.008.272.
The camera crew continues along the Marina District, proceeding to the city limits at Windmill Point. Here they turn around. During the return trip, the fire tug briefly turns into the Gregory Marina before heading further downriver. During this leg of the trip, the crew gets footage of the Roostertail, Sinbad's Marina, Kean's Marina, the Detroit Waterworks Water Intake Crib, a sign and construction site for Porterfield's Marina Village, Conners Creek Electric Power Plant, a small passing motorboat, the Detroit Waterworks Complex main pumping station, a United States Coast Guard cutter, the Belle Isle Nature Center, the Edison Boat Club, a group of sailboats off of the Bayview Yacht Club, the eastern end of Belle Isle, a view of the aft of the fire tug, the STAR OF DETROIT approaching from Lake St. Clair, the Livingstone Memorial Lighthouse, Riverfront Lakewood East Park, the Lakeside Trailer Court, and the Windmill Point Light, the distant skyline from the end of the river, a waterfront billboard for Grayhaven Marina Village, Grayhaven Marina, the Great Lakes Gas Dock beside Bayview, the Gregory Marina, Sinbad's, the hydroplane racing judge's stand, the Detroit Boat Basin, the rears of the Manoogian Mansion and neighboring homes, and Erma Henderson Park and Marina.
The video is on a 3M UCA 30S U-Matic S tape with a handwritten 3M label. The tape is housed in a black plastic latching case with a City of Detroit Department of Public Information Video Production label on in its cover.
