U-Matic tape containing two public service announcements produced by the City of Detroit's Department of Public Information; the first promotes the 1993 Summer in the City guide, and the second promotes the 1993 Riverfront Festivals series. The tape begins with nearly two minutes of a black screen before the first spot rolls.

The first spot promotes the 1993 edition of "Summer in the City: A Guide to Recreation Programs For Your Children," published in the Michigan Chronicle, the Detroit Free Press, and the Detroit News. The spot features footage the Detroit Zoo's Chimps of Harambee exhibit, soca artist Arrow performing at the 1989 African World Festival (taken from tape 2015.008.186), the 1901 Huntingburg Wagon Works Roadster (1975.019.001) on display in the Detroit Historical Museum's Dodge Hall, fireworks, an aerial shot of Hart Plaza, and a shot of the participating newspapers, as well as animations of a football and tennis player patterned after outlines of constellations. A closing title card gives the editions that will contain the supplement as well as the phone number to request additional copies.

The second spot promotes the summer Riverfront Festivals series at Hart Plaza. The spot contains shots of people walking through one of the festivals with the Renaissance Center in the background, dancers from the 1989 Polish Festival (taken from tape 2015.008.208), a crowd shot from the amphitheater area, and a dancing group performing in front of the stage at an African World Festival. On-screen graphics note "gospel," "comedy," and "children's activities." The spot ends with a title card with the information number for the series, as well as the Detroit Riverfront Festivals graphic featuring the Renaissance Center, the People Mover, an American flag, and a Canadian flag.

The recording is on a 3M UCA 30 U-Matic tape with a handwritten 3M label on its top, marked "Summer In the City '93,' River Front Festival '93,' Master." The tape is housed within a black plastic latching case with matching labels, marked "PSAs Summer In the City '93,' River Front Festival '93,' 061093, Master."
