X Mas Carnival B-Roll 1985
U-Matic tape containing silent shots of the Christmas displays at Cobo Hall's Christmas Carnival for b-roll footage presumably to be used in public service announcements about the event. The displays in the first portion of the footage include Santa's sleigh and reindeer, a Christmas tree, a large snowman, and a series of motorized figures in a winter scene. Among the motorized figures are a bear sawing wood, toy soldiers, a child with a scooter, a child with roller skates, a dancing elf, an elf using a wood plane on a sled, a Ferris wheel, children made of candy on a teeter totter, and a candy train. Then several children are filmed sliding down a roller slide aided by adults. The final shots are of a display featuring Santa Claus, a group of motorized carolers, and another candy-themed train.
The video is on a 3M UCA-20 U-Matic S tape with a handwritten label directly on its top in pencil. The tape is housed within a black plastic case with a handwritten 3M label on the wrap-around label window sleeve.
