Spot Interviews, Carol Marvin Interview, Malik Alston Set

The tape also contains clips of performances by Alan Oldham, Kelli Hand, Dwayne Jensen, and Malik Alston.
In the various spot interviews, the interviewees are generally asked about what techno is, about the festival, and if they know about techno's Detroit roots, and about the Detroit Historical Museum's planned techno exhibit. These spot interviews include a DEMF volunteer from Hamtramck who is interviewed south of the festival's entrance, a pair of attendees from Ypsilanti, a trio of friends from Roseville and Auburn Hills, a pair of attendees from St. Clair Shores, a pair of house fans visiting from Chicago, a pair of local attendees, and a trio of hip hop fans visiting from Pittsburgh.
D.J. Alan Oldham and his fiance Marina Tang are interviewed in a backstage area. Oldham discusses beginning as a comic artist, and as an intern at WDET. He is asked to define the different genres of electronic music, and to discuss what he has been listening to lately.
Carol Marvin, the producer of the 2002 Detroit Electronic Music Festival, is interviewed with Hart Plaza's Pylon and the Renaissance Center in the background. She talks about her experiences with techno, her role in making the festival happen, and her thoughts on the upcoming techno exhibit at the Detroit Historical Museum.
Peppered between the interviews are footage of by Alan Oldham performing on the main DEMF stage on Monday, Kelli "K-Hand" Hand performing in the Motor/Miller Genuine Draft DJ Tower as filmed from the crowd, Dwayne Jensen performing on the CPOP/Detroit Free Press Stage, and Malik Alston perfoming in the DJ Supply room.
The footage also includes shots of the Windsor riverfront, and dancers.
The video is on a "Premium" T-60 tape with a handwritten label on the top. The tape is housed within a clear plastic VHS case.
