VHS tape containing a series of promotional spots about Detroit. The first sport consists of a series of black and white shots of Detroiters answering the question, "What are you doing to make Detroit better?" The second spot is a montage of scenes around the city intercut with stock footage and set to an acappella version of a song with the refrain, "Detroit, We're Making it Better." The third spot is similar to the second, albeit with a different set of shots in the montage, and a musical accompaniment to the song. The montages contain footage of downtown, neighborhoods, professionals, the construction of the Brewster Homes, festivals in Hart Plaza, the Detroit People Mover, the Detroit Institute of Arts, Wayne State University, the Detroit Zoo, Greektown, the Detroit Grand Prix, Detroit Citizen’s Railway trolley #14, assembly lines, the Museum of African American History, the Motown Museum, the Fox Theatre, the International Freedom Festival fireworks, the Detroit Festival of the Arts, and Greenfield Village and Henry Ford Museum.

The video is on a 3M T-15 tape with printed labels on the side and top from General Television Network of Oak Park. The tape is housed within a white cardboard sleeve, with a handwritten note taped over a General Television Network label on the cover. The note reads, "Carolyn Ward, Comments, -Take out acappella version. -Tighten up pauses. (when you get 3/4/" version from Carlena) Thanks. AC[?]."
