Screamer/Boblo Promo
VHS tape containing footage shot from the front car of Boblo Island's rollercoaster The Screamer, followed by a version of Kane and Kane's promotional video, including the attractions Mark Wilson's Haunted Theatre and the Great American High Diving Team.
In the first portion of the tape, the camera makes two rides around the track from the front car of the Screamer. From the vantage point of the track, the roof and side of the adjacent Dance Pavilion, and the pirate ship ride are visible for a time.
The Screamer footage is followed by a short promotional video highlighting Boblo's Islands attractions. The video's first section is entitled, "All Aboard." . The video, begins with the boat ride to the island. A map, showing the locations of the docks--Amherstburg, Gibraltar, and Detroit--is included. The video shows both the smaller ferries, as well as the STE. CLAIRE. Upon arrival, the narrator states that visitors are greeted by the island's bear and lion mascots. The bear mascot is shown shaking hands with a family.
The video's second section, "Thrill Rides," begins with the park's rollercoasters, the Sky Streak and the Screamer. Footage and some narration follow showcasing several of the parks other rides--the Falling Star, the Pirate ship, the Log Flume, the Sky Diver, and the Enterprise.
The third section, "Family Fun," focuses on the Fort Fun play area, the kids' ride area, the "newly renovated" carousel, and carnival games. The Ferris wheel and the Skytower are also shown in a brief shot. The narrator continues to discuss further shows and attractions including the magic act at Mark Wilson's Haunted Theatre, the animatronic show Captain Andy's Rivertown Review, the Great American High Diving Team, the Skytower, the antique cars ride, the train, the picnic area, the Island House Restaurant and other concessions, and the gift shops. Following the aerial shots of the island, the video ends with a AAA of Michigan logo.
The videos are recorded on a generic T-20 VHS tape with a handwritten label on its side. The tape is housed within a blank white cardboard sleeve, with "Screamer PV No Sound" handwritten on its cover, and a label marked "59" taped to its spine.
