Ashtray
One ashtray used as an advertisement giveaway. It promoted the steamships of the Columbia Transportation Division of Oglebay Norton Company. The large circular ashtray is made of heavyweight glazed china of a bone/ivory color. It has short curved sides with a rounded top edge and a short circular base. The ashtray includes an inner circular ridge with 22 evenly-spaced notches for holding cigarettes. The top edges of the outer and inner circles are each painted with narrow gold-colored stripes. A multicolor image of the company smokestack is painted on the flat bottom at the center of the ashtray. No manufacturer's name or marks are shown.
