Charles Clifton Automotive Award
Charles Clifton Automotive Award statuette made of alumunium on a wooden base. The award features a male sculpture holding a spoked-wheel and a disc, upon which on which rests two automobiles--one early and one contemporary to the award. A plaque on the base reads, "Charles Clifton Automotive Award/ Presented to/ Alvan Macauley/ An Automotive Pioneer/ June 25, 1946." The sculpture is engraved with the signature of sculptor Avard Fairbanks. And below that is engraved, "© AMA."
The statuette was named for the late president of Pierce-Arrow and was presented to fourteen pioneers of the auto industry during the Auto Golden Jubilee. This one was presented to Alvan Macauley, Sr. of the Packard Motor Car Company.
