Black and white photographic print of The Charles Clifton Automotive Award. The aluminum award was designed by Avard Fairbanks of Ann Arbor. The pictured award features a crouched man holding a tire and a model of a mid-century automobile. The stand at the base of his feet says, "The Genius Of Man." On the back of the print, the press release for the award is taped on the back, dated May 31, 1946. The press release hangs over the edge of the print.
On the back of the print, red stamped text reads: "General Motors / Photographic Section / G.M Research Bldg. - Detroit 2, Michigan / no. 76634-1 / please refer to this number / when ordering print." Also on the back, two black stamps read, "Detroit Historical Society" and
Industrial History Division / Detroit Historical Museum."
