Cup, Demitasse
One demitasse cup and saucer from the dining room of the passenger steamship, SS Saguenay, of Canada Steamship Lines. Both pieces are made of white glazed china. The cup is cylindrical in shape with a rounded top edge, a rounded bottom, a short circular base, and a decorative round handle with a gold colored stripe on the outside. A decorative multi-color band with a small leaf/floral pattern encircles the cup at the top of the handle. Beneath the band, a decorative multi-color wreath/torch/bow pattern is equally-spaced around the cup along with floral swags and garlands. The saucer has a curved rim with a rounded outer edge. The top surface of the curved rim is decorated with the same floral pattern as on the cup. Both pieces are stamped on the underside with a green logo and text that reads "W. G. & Co., Limoges, France." The underside of the saucer is stamped with additional red text reads "Wm. Guerin & Co., Limoges, France."
