Eggcup
One eggcup from the dining room of a lighthouse or lightship of the U.S. Light House Service. The cup is made of heavyweight white glazed china. It has a curved hourglass shape with the upper section being taller and wider than the base. A decorative red floral and leaf band encircles the outside of the cup just beneath the top edge. At a break in the band, red text is stamped which reads "U.S.L.H.S." The underside is stamped with small red text that reads "James M. Shaw & Co., New York."
