Ornament, Surface

One salvaged section of architectural plaster ornamentation from St. Thomas the Apostle Church in Detroit. The ornamentation is made of molded plaster and has a diagonal grate pattern across the top. The face of a cherub with small wings appears at the center, and a decorative fleur-de-lis design appears at the bottom. A small portion of another design can be seen at the lower right side of the salvaged section. The exterior surface of the plaster ornamentation is painted with bright, gold-colored paint. The back surface is irregular and unfinished.
