Plate, Butter

One small butter plate from the dining room of the passenger steamship, SS Cayuga, of the Niagara Navigation Company. The round plate is made of heavyweight, white glazed china. It has short curved sides with a rounded top edge. Narrow green/gray stripes on the top surface encircle the outer edge and the bottom at the base of the curved sides. A green flag and life ring emblem is stamped at the center of the plate along with text that reads "Niagara Navigation Company, Limited." The underside is stamped with a lion logo and black text that reads "Vitrified, John Maddock & Sons, England," and "W. A. Murray & Co., Ltd., Toronto, Ont."
