Plate, Butter
One small butter plate from a dining room of one of the passenger steamships of the Temiskaming Navigation Company, Ltd., of Ontario. The round plate is made of heavyweight, white glazed china. It has short curved sides with a rounded top edge. One narrow red stripe encircles the top surface of the plate along the midpoint of the sides. At a break in the stripe at the center of one of the long sides, a red/black/white image of the company flag is stamped along with black text that reads "The Temiskaming Nav. Co., Ltd." The underside is stamped with black text that reads, "W. H. Grindley & Co., Vitrified, England," and "Furnished by Nerlich & Co., Toronto."
