Plate, Dessert

One dessert plate from the dining room of the bulk carrier, SS Joseph L. Block, of the Inland Steel Company. The round plate is made of heavyweight white glazed china. It has a flat, slightly-upturned rim and a thickened outer edge. A narrow gray stripe encircles the plate along the outer edge of the rim. A diamond-shaped company emblem, consisting of two narrow gray border lines with a black "I" at the center, is stamped on one area of the rim. The underside is stamped with black text that reads "11-NN" and "Syracuse China, U.S.A."
