Plate, Soup

One large soup plate that was likely owned by a yacht owner at the Detroit Yacht Club (DYC). The round plate is made of fine glazed Lenox Belleek china that has a bone/ivory color. It has a slightly curved, upturned rim, and a narrow navy blue stripe with gold edging encircles the plate along the outer edge. On one area of the rim, a hand-painted image of the DYC burgee is shown along with a private yacht burgee that has the initials "RJW" or "RWJ." The underside is stamped with a gray script "L" logo and text that reads "Belleek" (Lenox Belleek) as well as gold-colored text that reads "Ovington's, New York." Additional handwritten gold-colored text at the edge of the base reads "7/86-B."
