Platter
One platter from the passenger steamship, SS Rapids King, of the Richelieu & Ontario Navigation Company. The oval-shaped platter is made of heavyweight, white glazed china. It has a flat, upturned rim with a thickened edge. A single dark green stripe encircles the outer edge of the platter and two very narrow dark green stripes encircle the rim just above the midpoint. Six stylized blue grape clusters are equally-spaced along the rim beneath the two narrow stripes. A dark green emblem is stamped in the center which shows a ship's wheel and anchor along with green text that reads "Richelieu & Ontario Navigation Company." The underside is stamped with black text that reads "Grindley's Vitrified for Hotels & Clubs" and "A. T. Wiley & Co., Montreal."
