Seat, Folding
One folding elevator operator's seat from the Farmer Street section of the J. L. Hudson Company store in downtown Detroit. The 1" thick circular seat is made of maple wood that has been stained medium brown and has a glossy lacquer or varnish finish. It has rounded edges and is mounted on a thin steel circular base plate that is attached to a short brass support beam. The beam has spindle fittings on the end which would allow the seat to be set in an up or down position or be removed from the elevator.
