Sepia-toned photo of the new Detroit-Windsor tunnel. The view looks along the inside of the tunnel and shows two vehicle lanes, tiled walls, a narrow walkway and railing, flat ceiling, and lighting. One automobile can be seen in the distance. Typewritten text on the verso shows "Taken near the American portal. Walk at left is for tunnel attendants only, no pedestrians being allowed in the tunnel. Lights are spaced 20 feet apart, making the tunnel interior almost as light as day. Drivers will turn off their headlights while going thru the tunnel." A black ink stamp shows the date, "Oct. 14, 1930."
