One black and white photograph of a cofferdam being constructed of steel sheet piling with stone/sand fill in Maumee Bay, Lake Erie. The cofferdam work was being done as part of the construction of a new water supply intake for the City of Toledo. The new water supply project work included 11,500 feet of 108-inch diameter concrete pipe and an intake crib structure in Maumee Bay. Black printed text in the lower right corner of the photo shows "Lake Erie Water Supply, Toledo, Ohio, Cofferdam for Intake Crib, Merritt-Chapman & Scott Corp., New York City, Engineers and Contractors, 1939."
