One black and white photograph of the barge, CONNAUGHT, with a crane on deck that is being used to lay pipe for an underwater pipeline crossing. The crane is holding up several sections of pipe with chains. Pipe, rope, and other supplies are stacked on the barge deck. An elevated shoreline is visible in the background. A sign at the far left side of the photo has white text that reads "Pipe Line and Cable Crossing Here and 100 Ft. North, Do Not Anchor or Dredge." A typewritten adhesive label on the verso reads "Pipe Line Crossing, St. Clair River, November, 1928. Scow Connaught laying pipe."
