One color photograph of the funeral service for one of two Detroit Fire Department firemen who died as a result of the riots which had taken place in the city in late July, 1967. The photo shows an honor guard in the foreground with lines of firemen in the background who are standing at attention and saluting as pallbearers carry the flag-draped casket to the lowering rack over the grave. Large trees in the cemetery (Mt. Elliott or Elmwood) have created a shaded area for the service. A red ink stamp on the verso shows "D.F.D. [Detroit Fire Department] Photo, by Capt. J. A. Mancinelli."
