One black and white photograph of a sailboat in distress that is being taken in tow by the SS S. T. Crapo of the Huron Cement Company. The photo looks aft along the port side of the freighter and shows crew members watching and leaning over the side railing. The sloop-rigged sailboat is floating off the port quarter of the freighter. No sails are up and it appears to have no boom. The sailboat had been participating in the Port Huron to Mackinac sailboat race, but had evidently encountered some difficulties. A shoreline is visible in the far right background. Handwritten text on the verso reads "Alpena, Helped sailboat, 1941."
