Print, Photographic

One black and white photograph of a sailboat in distress that is being taken in tow by the SS S. T. Crapo of the Huron Cement Company. The photo shows a starboard side bow view of the sloop-rigged sailboat that is floating off the transom of the freighter. It has a white hull and several crew members are on deck. The mast and rigging appear to be intact, but the boom is gone. A jib is furled on the foredeck. The sailboat had been participating in the Port Huron to Mackinac sailboat race, but had evidently encountered some difficulties. Handwritten text on the verso reads "Alpena, Helped sailboat, 1941."
