The photo shows a view of one of the long sides of the rectangular 2-story brick building which has a hip roof. A double door entrance is located at the center of the building on the ground floor. A single door, a landing, and stairway are located on the second floor directly above the ground floor door. A gravel yard, concrete sidewalk, and wood fence are visible in the foreground. Utility poles and houses are visible in the left and right background areas. Printed text on the lower right corner of the embossed matte frame reads "A. Rentschler, 206 Randolph, cor. Monroe, Detroit, Mich."
