One color photograph of a Canadian self-unloader steamship which had run aground. The photo shows a view along the starboard side of the ship which appears to be located in the channel at the Nicholson Terminal & Dock Company facility in Ecorse, Michigan. A crane barge and scow from the Faust Corporation are moored alongside. The crane is using a clamshell bucket to perform lightering work (removing coal from the ship and transferring it to the scow) in order to raise the grounded vessel. The Detroit River and Windsor, Ontario, shoreline are visible in the background.
