The photo shows three American Red Cross (Detroit Chapter) volunteers at a help desk in the Michigan Central Railroad Depot and seamen who are standing on each side. American and French flags can be seen over the desk along with a shield-shaped sign that reads "Detroit Chapter American Red Cross Canteen Service." A sign in the right background reads "Soldiers & Sailors Information and Service, War Camp Community Service, National League for Woman's Service."
