Print, Photographic

One sepia-toned photograph of a group of powerboats that were built by the Richardson Boat Company of North Tonawanda, New York. The view looks along the Erie Canal in the vicinity of Lock #30 and shows a group of about 20 powerboats that are moored in pairs along both sides of the canal. All appear to be between 25 feet and 35 feet in length. People are seated/standing on the boat decks or are standing on sidewalks that are located on each side of the canal. Lawn areas, trees, lightpoles, and a flagpole can be seen in the background. A large sign is mounted on the cabin top of the cruiser at the right side of the photo. The partially-readable text on the sign reads "---- Cruise, Richardson Boat Co., Socony - Banner Gasoline." Handwritten pencil text on the verso reads "Lock #30, Richardson Cruise, 1931."
