Two sepia-toned photos, captioned, "before," and "after" of a group of uniformed firefighters posed around a table, pasted side by side on a black mat board, with a small tag printed with "A Merry Christmas," overlapping the bottom inner edges of both pictures. In the "before" photo on the left, several of the men hold pies, and dishes are neatly stacked on the table beside a cooked goose or turkey and open jars filled with celery. In the "after" photo, the men smoke cigars, and have the celery stalks stuffed into their shirts. The dishes on the table are in disarray, little remains of the poultry, and several items in jars are now on the table. Several of the men are identifies in a handwritten caption on the verso:
