Photograph. Black and white photo showing Henry Ford (left) speaking into the right ear of Thomas Edison (right). A brick wall can be seen in the background. Henry Ford is wearing a grey suit and Thomas Edison is wearing a white shirt with dark-colored suit and tie. A typewritten label on the verso shows "No. 5495. Left to right: Henry Ford and Thos. A. Edison in the reproduced Edison Laboratory from Ft. Myers, Fla., now in Geenfield Village, Dearborn, Mich., on Sept. 27, 1928, just before Mr. Edison opened the throttle on the Armington & Sims steam engine to put the Laboratory in operation again. Mr. Ford is telling Mr. Edison that everything is ready for him to start the engine. Due to Mr. Edison's deafness, it was necessary to get close to him so he could hear."
