Photograph. Black and white photo showing an interior view of the Detroit Edison River Rouge electric power plant. The image shows a boiler being raised with two heavy block and tackle assemblies inside the power plant building. The building interior shows a heavy framework of steel beams and columns as well as pipes, catwalks, cables, and fittings. Two workmen are standing on a catwalk near the upper right corner of the photo and seven other workmen are on a catwalk near the lower block assembly.
