One book entitled "Detroit 1968, An Invitation to the International Olympic Committee to Celebrate the XIX Olympiad at Detroit, Michigan, U.S.A." The hardcover, oversize book is contained in a dark blue slipcase that has a red, white, and blue ribbon. The book has a picture of the Spirit of Detroit statue on the front cover and contains 42 un-numbered pages of black and white as well as color pictures which highlight the City of Detroit and the surrounding region. Explanatory text is printed in English and French. The back pages contain photocopies of letters of support from Governor George Romney, Mayor Jerome Cavanagh of Detroit, Mayor Michael Patrick of Windsor, and the Detroit Common Council along with a list of the Detroit Olympic Committee members.
