Firemen's Fund Association membership certificate, printed by the Detroit Lithographic Office, and issued to Charles R. Kline on December 28, 1889. The document bears the signatures of President John Kendall, Treasurer James A. Elliott, and Secretary John E. Quick. Illustrations of a firefighter speaking into a bugle, as two other firefighters hold a hose, as well as of a team of firefighters riding in an early self-propelled steam-driven fire engine are on the left side of the certificate. The certificate is mounted on linen.
