Lake Erie,
West End of the Lake Including the Islands
One navigational chart entitled, "Lake Erie, West End of the Lake Including the Islands," that was compiled and published as part of the Survey of the Northern and Northwestern Lakes (Corps of Engineers, U. S. Lake Survey). The chart (No. 39) is a polyconic projection and is drawn at a scale of 1:100,000. The chart area covers the western end of the lake including the Michigan, Ohio, and Ontario shorelines (west of Point Pelee, Ontario, and Sandusky, Ohio). The chart details and text are printed in black and red ink on white paper. Marsh areas are printed in blue. Chart details include water depths in feet, course and range bearings, distances in statute miles, lines of latitude and longitude, buoys, and lighthouses. Printed text in the lower left corner shows "Edition of May, 1950."
