Lake Erie,
West End of the Lake Including the Islands

One navigational chart entitled, "Lake Erie, West End of the Lake Including the Islands," that was compiled and published by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), Lake Survey Center. The chart (No. 39) is a polyconic projection and is drawn at a scale of 1:100,000. The chart area covers the western end of the lake including the Michigan, Ohio, and Ontario shorelines (west of Point Pelee, Ontario, and Vermilion, Ohio). Inset maps for Port Clinton, Ohio, and Monroe Harbor, Michigan, are shown in the lower left corner area of the chart. Land areas are shaded in pale yellow. Lake areas are shown in white and light blue depending upon water depths which are shown in feet. Distances are given in statute miles. Lines of latitude and longitude are shown in black. Course bearings are shown along with navigational range markers. Lighthouses and buoys are also noted. Printed text in the lower left corner shows "12th Ed., Feb. 22/74." The verso shows a map of the Great Lakes region in light gray along with NOAA chart numbers and areas of coverage.
