Log Book, Steamer Daniel J. Morell, 1955-1956
One ship's log book. The log book has been rebound with a black cloth hardcover and contains about 100 un-numbered pages. Gold-colored lettering on the spine shows "Log Book Str. Daniel J. Morell, 1955-1956." Interior pages have column headings that are printed in black text along the tops of the pages for "Date, Place, Time, Course, Wind, Weather, Log, Distance in Miles, Revolutions, Average Revolutions, and Remarks." Handwritten entries are shown in pencil throughout the log book and record vessel trips as follows:
Trips 9-37; May 28 to December 7, 1955.
Trips 1-4; May 26 to June 23, 1956.
Four pages at the end of the book provide a handwritten summary of coal and ore load data for 1955.
