Bank of Macomb County

One $5 bank note "No. 180" from the Bank of Macomb County. The note is printed in red and black ink on white paper and features engraved images of the note amount as a number, "5," Roman numeral, "V," and spelled out as "Five." Engraved images along the edges depict a bountiful harvest scene, the seal of the State of Michigan, a beaver, and medicine/shipping. Decorative engraved text reads "The Bank of Macomb County Will Pay Five Dollars on demand to A. Crise or bearer. Mt. Clemens, May 1, 1853." The note is signed by "E. G. Tucker, Cshr. [Cashier]" and "R. C. Kibbee, Prest. [President]." No text or images are printed on the verso.
