Painting

One watercolor painting of a proposed apartment building. The view looks northwestward to the corner of Ferry Street (left) and Woodward Avenue (right) and shows a three-story, red brick, townhouse-style apartment building. Five units face southward on Ferry Street and two units face eastward on Woodward Avenue. Several people can be seen on the sidewalks and one horse-drawn wagon is proceeding eastward on Ferry Street. The painting is glued in an off-white matte border that has a rectangular cut-out at the bottom with text that shows "J. Lawson Miller, Architect, Detroit, Michigan." The painting is signed by the artist, "Edward Dewjon, del. [delineator]," near the lower right corner. The architectural plans for the project (Job 202) were designed by J. Lawson Miller for the Champlain Improvement Company of Detroit.
