Pitcher, Water

One water pitcher from one of the dining rooms of the Detroit & Cleveland Navigation Company passenger steamship fleet. The pitcher is made of heavyweight white glazed china. It is has an open top with a wide spout, a round body with straight sides that flare outward slightly to form a wider base, and a decorative rectangular handle with a thumb rest. The pitcher is plainly-decorated with some scrollwork on the handle and faint ridge lines that encircle the outside near the rim and base. The blue script "D&C" logo is stamped on the side below the spout. Red text is stamped on the underside that reads "The Bailey-Walker Vitrified China, Bedford, Ohio," and "Furnished By Reichle Sons Co., Detroit, Mich."
