Plate, Dessert

One dessert plate from the dining room of the bulk carrier, SS Joliet, of the Cleveland Cliffs Iron Company. The round plate is made of heavyweight white glazed china. It has a flat, upturned rim with a scalloped outer edge. A decorative green leaf band encircles the rim just along the midpoint. A green diamond-shaped "CCIC [Cleveland Cliffs Iron Company]" logo is stamped at the center of the plate. Stamped green text on the underside of the plate reads "O.P. Co. [Onondaga Pottery Company], Syracuse China." Also, the number, "26," inside a small circle is stamped into the china.
