Plate, Dinner

One dinner plate from the dining room of the bulk carrier, SS WALTER A. STERLING, of the Cleveland Cliffs Iron Company. The round plate is made of heavyweight glazed china in a bone/ivory color. It has a flat, upturned rim and a rounded outer edge. Narrow gold-colored stripes encircle the outer and inner edges of the rim. Also, a band of small green leaves encircles the rim just above the midpoint. A green and gold-colored, diamond-shaped "CCIC [Cleveland Cliffs Iron Company]" logo is stamped on one area of the rim just above the inner stripe. Stamped black text on the underside of the plate reads "Walker China, Vitrified" and "Bedford, Ohio, C-52."
