One black and white photograph of the Baltimore & Ohio (B&O) coal dock in Lorain, Ohio. The aerial view looks westward and shows the coal loading tower under construction near the center of the photo. Partially completed railroad tracks are visible along the pier to the left and right of the tower. The tower/track facility was used to load coal onto steamships for transport or for bunkering (refueling steamships). Aggregate piles are visible along the pier which is located near the lower edge of the photo. This pier also forms the west side of the entrance to the Black River. The Lorain Yacht Club (LYC) building is visible near the left center area of the photo. Several industrial buildings and a railroad track can be seen in the upper left area.
