One black and white photograph (and one copy) of the Baltimore & Ohio (B&O) coal dock under construction in Lorain, Ohio. Partially-completed seawalls, aggregate piles, and rough-graded earth can be seen in the foreground along with crane barges at work. The channel entrance to the Black River can be seen at the right side of the photo. The Lorain harbor seawall and entrance are visible in the far background. A label at the lower right corner of the photo reads "B&O Railroad Company Coal Handling Facilities, Lorain, Ohio. Merritt-Chapman & Scott Corp., Engineers-Contractors, Cleveland-New York, Date: Dec. 5, 1946."
