One black and white photograph (and one copy) showing a nearly-completed cofferdam. The temporary cofferdam was located in southern Lake Huron at the site of a vertical shaft that was to be constructed for a new water intake for the Detroit Metropolitan Water Services. The aerial view shows the watertight cofferdam structure which consisted of seven 48-foot diameter cells that were arranged in a circle. Each cell was formed with a circle of steel sheet piling that was filled with sand and stone. A crane, construction vehicles, and equipment are visible on top of the cells. Printed text in the lower right corner of the photo shows "Detroit Metropolitan Water Services, Contract No. LH-6A, Raw Water Intake, Lake Huron Station. Contractor: Dunbar Kiewit Port Huron, Photo No. 13, Date: 11-24-70, Photo By: Win Brunner."
